Finish Samples On Site with Team Members

Bringing Design to Life On Site:

One of the most impactful parts of our architectural process is the material sample review. While we utilize digital renderings and design boards in our process, our next phase is to take it a step further by bringing the design off the screen and into the physical world.

During this key in-person meeting, clients experience every material firsthand—tile, hardware, flooring, paint colors, cabinetry finishes, and more—right in the context of the home. You see and feel exactly what will be installed, making the design tangible and real.

This hands-on approach allows the clients to see how the selected finishes interact with natural light, surrounding materials, and architectural features in their intended environment. It’s a powerful exercise for helping the homeowners to be confident and informed about their design decisions.

Whether it’s the color of a bathroom floor tile or the texture of an exterior stone wall, these in-person sample reviews ensure that every material looks just as envisioned in its true context—not just on a screen or under showroom lights.

Whether you're embarking on a new build or renovating an existing space, Pillar & Perch Architects + Builders are here to guide you through every step of the design journey. Explore our portfolio and discover how our expertise as Charlottesville architects can transform your living spaces.
